Now the downside to filing online is that you may have issues that may need addressing that an online service can’t answer, or there are security concerns at stake. There is constantly personal information that needs to be entered online. Another downside is that the average person is not aware of all of the tax law changes and they may miss out on substantial deductions. There is also the risk of entering incorrect information and run the risk of being audited or owing more money than you need to owe.
