Taxes are some of the most important things you need to keep track of. Whether you have one job with one simple w-2 or you own your own business it is very important to keep everything organized so you will not run into any major issues when filing your tax returns.

The first thing to do is to make a file folder to keep all of your pay stubs in. This will allow you to cross reference everything and be sure everything adds up correctly as it should. Keep your work related paper work in one spot will make the process a much simpler one when it is time to put in that return.

It is also important to keep your receipts on items that can be used for write offs on your tax returns. Any items purchased for your business including office supplies can be written off. It is crucial you keep close tabs on this to ensure that you get all of the deductions that are coming to you.

Staying organized is one of the most important aspects of successful filing your taxes. You will have a better chance of getting that larger return if everything is organized.

Over 30 states have in the last decade enacted what they call “Tax Free” weekends, some more than once a year. We think this is a great way to save some dough and there are a few items that make more sense to buy than others. Use your WildBlueDeals.cominternet to find stores in your area opening early for the event which is likely coming up soon…
School Supplies – If you usually break the bank buying your kids things like folders and colored pencils consider this an easy 10 off. School supplies are the very reason tax-free weekends began and stores everywhere mark them down additionally to move the extra inventory.
Electronics – If you need a new laptop there is literally never a better time to buy. Seven to ten percent off is huge when it comes to computers but beware you’ve got to act early to get a good deal. Some stores report lines as early as the night before.
Back to School Clothes – Most states have a cap on how expensive clothing can be to still get the discount but it’s a high number and you’re bound to save hundreds if you do all of your kids’ back to school shopping this one weekend.

The two words that can best describe How To Prepare for Tax Season would be “get organized”. The one thing you never want to do is to show up at your accountant or tax preparer’s office with a shoe box, file folder or manila envelope full of little scraps of paper, that you call receipts, and hand it to him or her, thinking that a tax preparer should be more than happy to sort through that mess, looking for your deduction figures. They don’t and, if they agree to do that at all, they will charge you accordingly.Didn’t catch that? This explains it.

So, get out your calculator, preferably with a printout tape, and add up your receipts, making a nice neat organized list of your deductions. If you’re not sure if something is a legitimate deduction or not, put it on the list anyway, as a separate item, and let your tax preparer advise you if you can use it or not. Then, hand-write on a legal pad or print up on your computer, all of the totals for your deductions and take them to your tax preparer. They’ll thank you and it will cost you less.

You might also want to prepare for next year by getting one of those receipt scanners that enters your receipts automatically into a program and adds them up for you, saving you a great deal of effort at tax time.

There are several advantages to getting your taxes done early, in this post we will look at a few, besides the obvious one of getting back your refund quicker, that is if you have one coming.

A lot of people instinctively wait until the last minute to due their taxes, some tax preparers will offer incentives like free electronic filing or even a discount for customers that file early.

Getting Taxes Done Early – Avoiding The Crowd

The major advantage of doing your taxes early is having time to fix the “unexpected situations’, this could be a situation where you thought you would get a refund and you end up having to pay, filing early gives you time to prepare for this. In general, filing early gives you the time, in case you need it, to make adjustments to your taxes and avoid penalties and/or interest charges.

One final note about getting your taxes done early is avoiding stress, the stress of waiting and the last minute jitters. You might even incur extra charges if your tax preparer has to file an extension or something like that because you ran out of time for the normal filing date.

Consider some of these advantages and next tax season reduce your stress level by getting your taxes done early.

Tax time can sneak up on you. How do you make sure that when spring rolls around, your finances are in the best shape they can be and your tax preparation can go quickly and easily?

There are many things you can do to prepare for tax season.

Start at the beginning of the year and make sure you’re putting all your tax documentation in the same place, so at the end of the year, you don’t have to hunt down each piece of information separately. This leads to incomplete information and incorrect tax returns.

What do you need? Make sure you have all your W-2s, of course, but if you are a homeowner, you can deduct the interest you paid on your mortgage, so be aware of how much interest you paid. The same is true for student loan payments.

You also need a record of any money you spent on childcare during the year, as well, as the social security numbers of your children.

If you have donated anything to charity, you’ll need records of what the value of your donations were and where you donated them.

If you earn any income from interest, you’ll need those statements as well.

The best preparation for tax time is a well organized set of financial documents from the prior year.
